Branning scores 31 as IKM-Manning girls roll

 MANNING (Jan. 16) -- Senior Lexi Branning scored a career-high 31 points in less than 17 minutes of action and junior Alexa Ahrenholtz tallied 21 points and 10 assists here Thursday night as the IKM-Manning girls raced past Riverside 96-29 to sweep the season series.
 The Wolves led 35-8 after one quarter and 59-19 at the half before outscoring the Bulldogs 25-5 in the third with a running clock. They improved to 8-3 overall and 7-2 in Western Iowa Conference play, tied with Logan-Magnolia for third place behind AHSTW (9-1) and Audubon (7-1).
 Branning dominated the paint for IKM-M, making 13-of-16 field goal attempts and grabbing six offensive boards and 10 total.
 The Wolves knocked down 9-of-16 three-pointers, including 4-of-6 by Ahrenholtz and 3-of-5 for Nicole Hanson. Hanson finished with 11 points, followed by Bre Muhlbauer with nine, Macie Doyel six, Taylor Ferneding five and Bianca Cadwell and Katy Wooster with four each.
 Emily Kerkhoff hit a trey for her only points while adding seven assists and five steals. Cadwell had four assists and five steals and Muhlbauer had six rebounds and six steals.
 Riverside (1-10 overall, 1-9 WIC) turned the ball over 41 times. Senior Ashlynn Amdor scored 25 of the team’s 29 total points and took 24 of the 38 shot attempts.
