Boys tennis: Cyclones win 6-3

SHENANDOAH -- Michael Rueschenberg’s 10-7 win in the number-three singles match helped swing the momentum to Harlan Community’s side Thursday as the Cyclone boys tennis team got back to the .500 mark with a 6-3 dual victory at Shenandoah. HCHS improved to 4-4 overall and 2-3 inside the Hawkeye Ten Conference.
Alec Plagman and Nolan Heese added 10-3 singles wins for the Cyclones, who also won two out of three doubles matches by identical 10-3 margins. Josh Cheek also won in singles play, leading 6-4 when his opponent retired from the match.
