Basketball season starts Monday

 AREA (Nov. 23) -- Some games and scrimmages have already been postponed due to COVID-19. Others are set to go on. One way or another, the high school basketball season is scheduled to start this week across the state of Iowa.
 The AHSTW girls will play the area’s first two games on the slate, hosting Woodbine on Monday night and CAM on Tuesday.
 The IKM-Manning girls and boys will host West Monona in a Hall of Pride Scrimmage on Monday night.
 Harlan Community, meanwhile, has postponed or cancelled the first basketball events of the season. Scrimmages vs. Council Bluffs Thomas Jefferson on Friday night, Nov. 20 (girls at TJ, boys in Harlan) were cancelled. In addition, Tuesday’s Panorama at HCHS girls basketball games (JV-Varsity) have been postponed to December 21.
