Atlantic girls top HCHS in double OT
ATLANTIC -- Following 99 minutes of soccer and a rally from three goals down, the Harlan Community girls were still unable to break the shackles of a long losing streak Friday night in Atlantic.
Erasing a 3-0 first-half deficit, the Cyclones tied the match in the 69th minute of regulation but were unable to score during two sudden-death overtime periods. The Trojans won it on Danyelle Hass’s third goal with a minute left in the second OT, prevailing 4-3 for their first Hawkeye Ten Conference victory.
Atlantic improved to 2-7 overall and 1-4 in league games. The Cyclones lost their seventh straight match to fall to 1-7 overall and 1-3 in the conference.
