All-State softball teams include six area standouts

 STATE -- Highlighted by a pair of first-team selections, six area softball players have been recognized on the 2016 Iowa Girls Coaches Association All-State Softball teams, released July 28.
 Harlan Community senior Logan Schaben (Class 4-A) and IKM-Manning senior Abbey Youngren (Class 2-A) were both named to the first team after putting together monster seasons at the plate. Schaben is a repeat first-team selection while Youngren received honorable mention a year ago.
 Exira-Elk Horn-Kimballton sophomore Sophia Peppers was named second-team All-State in Class 1-A for the second straight year while teammates Kealey Nelson and Maggie Rasmussen both received honorable mention. IKM-Manning sophomore Peyton Gross was a third-team selection in Class 2-A.
