Vernie Miller, 86

    IRWIN -- Vernie Joseph Miller, 86, Irwin, died March 2 at Bergan Mercy Medical Center.
    A private family service will be held at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Defiance.  Private family visitation will be Sunday, March 7 from 1-3 p.m. at the church.
    Miller is survived by his wife, Mary (Eckermann) Miller of Irwin; sons Michael Miller of Carroll, Ric Miller of Lincoln, NE, and Ron (Jill) Miller of Corinth, TX; daughters Julie Johnson of Bedford, TX, Joan (Jerald) Bieker of Defiance, and Jean (Gary) Muhlbauer of Defiance; brothers Don (Alice) Miller of Defiance, Duane (Sue) Miller of Denison, and Larry Miller of Zephyrhills, FL; sister Mary (Joe) Gross of Donahue; sister-in-law Audrey Miller of Omaha, NE; 16 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
    Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Harlan is in charge of arrangements.
