Russell Buckley, 67

    EARLING -- Russell “Rusty” John Buckley, 67, Earling, died October 5 at the University of Nebraska Medical Center.
    Services were held Monday, Oct. 10 at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Earling with burial in the St. Joseph’s Cemetery at Earling.
    Buckley is survived by daughters Deanne (Corey) Miller of Urbandale, Lisa (Chad) Adams of Ankeny and Sara (Brett Seber) Buckley of Cedar Rapids; son John (Liz) Buckley of Earling; brother Rex (Irene) Buckley of Harlan; sisters Linda Buckley of Omaha, NE and LuAnn Buckley of Earling; ex-wife Anita Buckley of Earling; and seven grandchildren.
    Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Harlan was in charge of arrangements.
    Buckley was injured August 21 when the tractor he was driving on a rural road in Shelby County was struck by an SUV driven by Orin Wright, 23, Kirkman.  The Wright vehicle was attempting to pass the tractor and clipped its left rear tire.
    Buckley was thrown from the tractor and was taken to the Omaha hospital where he died last week.  The Iowa State Patrol said Wright was in a no-passing zone at the time of the accident.
