Roger Schechinger, 55

    MENIFEE, CA -- Roger Elmer Schechinger, 55, Menifee, CA, died February 26 at Loma Linda University Hospital in Murrieta, CA.
    He was a former Westphalia resident and graduate of Harlan Community Schools.
    A full Marine funeral service was held March 17 at the Riverside National Military Cemetery in Riverside, CA.  Local services are pending in Westphalia due to COVID-19 virus.  Information will be forthcoming.
    Schechinger is survived by his wife, Ichiko, and daughter, Tiana, of Menifee; mother Judy Patrick of Westphalia; father-in-law Kiyofumi Matsuda of Naha, Okinawa, Japan; brothers Michael (Karen) Schechinger of Adel and Robert (Carol) Schechinger of Treynor; sisters Bonnie (Tony) Cairney of Westphalia, Susan (Ron) Yockey of Westphalia and Sherie (Steve) Hollander of Glenwood; sister-in-law Eriko (Hideki) Shimajiri of Tomishiro, Okinawa, Japan; brother-in-law Yasutaka (Yukiko) Matsuda of Naha, Okinawa, Japan; uncles, aunts, other family members and many friends.
