Pamela Jo Captain (Gettys)

Pamela Jo Captain (Gettys) passed away peacefully at her home in Joplin, MO on July 29th 2023. She was no doubt met with love and open arms by her late husband of 44 years, Danny.
She was born in Denison,  IA on May 27 1950 to Gene and Marie Gettys. She was raised by Gene and Jan Gettys in Harlan after her mother Marie passed away when Pam was age 7 . She attended and graduated Harlan High School.
Pam is survived by her and Danny’s 3 children; Sarah Marie Captain (Joplin, MO), Matthew and Natalie Captain (Hicksville, OH) and Jason Captain (Fort Worth,TX). She was also a grandmother to 4 grandchildren; Danny Captain II (Fort Wayne,IN, Emily and Tucker Eberhart (Fort Wayne, IN), Connor Daffron (Corpus Christi,TX) and Riley Captain (Fort Worth,TX) and 1 great grandchild on the way.
Pam is also survived by 4 brothers and 2 sisters; Tom and Jackie Gettys, Jill and Tom Murtaugh, Joe L and Christina Gettys, Jock and Tracee Gettys, Tricia and Merrit Blunk and Gene Jr. and Angie Gettys as well as many nieces and nephews.
There will be a memorial service September 9th. 2023 at the Faith Family Church 2099 Chatburn Ave. Harlan,IA at 10 a.m. Followed by a burial service located at the Harlan Cemetery 12th & Cyclone Harlan, which is open for all who would like to attend. There will be a luncheon provided at the church following the service.
