Melvin “Mel” Huber, 59

    HARLAN -- Melvin “Mel” L. Huber, 59, Harlan, died Monday, September 5at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.
    Celebration of Life services will be held on Friday, September 9 at 2 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home in Creston. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in rural Afton, IA.
    Visitation with family receiving friends will be held from 1 p.m. until the start of the service at Powers Funeral Home.
    Huber is survived by his wife, Sheri Huber of Harlan, children Carol (Aaron) Omtvedt, Waseca, MN; and Dr. Daniel (Dr. Gabrielli) Huber of Albany, NY; mother, Rebecca Elizabeth Huber of Creston; brother, Wayne Huber of Creston; three grandchildren Ava and Stella Omtvedt and Timothy Gorospe (Huber), his mother-in-law, Carol Amos-Smith of St. Joseph, MO; one brother-in-law and his family; four sisters-in-law and their families; and many nieces and nephews.
