Bernie Kremer

Persia - Bernard J. “Bernie” Kremer, age 82, of Council Bluffs, passed away February 1, 2025, at Jennie Edmundson Hospital. Bernie was born January 16, 1943, in Persia, IA to the late Clarence and Helen M. (Honeywell) Kremer. He graduated from Tri-Center High School, Neola, IA in 1961. Bernie was a police officer for the City of Council Bluffs and a bartender for 25 years at the Goldmine Bar & Grill. He married Teresa Ann Nocita on December 6, 1996. Bernie was of the Catholic faith and an avid Husker fan. In addition to his parents, Bernie was preceded in death by his brother, Terry Kremer in 1996 and brother-in-law, Harvey Leinen in 2014.  Bernie is survived by his wife of 28 years, Teresa Kremer of Council Bluffs; son, Tim Hawkins of Greeley, CO; stepson, Ryan (Mikel) Eppenbaugh of Hoffman Estates,  IL; 4 grandchildren, Alex and Halle Hawkins, Michael, and Nicholas Eppenbaugh; sister, Charlotte Leinen of Harlan, IA; Sister-in-law Janice Kremer of Virginia; many nieces and nephews. Celebration of Life service, Saturday, 2:00 p.m. at Cutler-O’Neill-Meyer-Woodring Bayliss Park Chapel followed by food and refreshments at the Goldmine Bar & Grill. In lieu of flowers memorials can be directed to the family.
