Alfred Linn Petersen

Alfred Linn Petersen, son of Eugene (Pete the Cop) and Janell (Christensen) Petersen was born November 18, 1955 in Harlan, Iowa.  He attended Harlan Community Schools.
Alfred always loved animals and would take them in and care for them.  When he was growing up he had a dog named Joe Joe.  That dog would ride behind Alfred on his bicycle banana seat.  Joe Joe would sit on his bottom and put his legs around Alfred and away they would go.
Alfred enjoyed children especially his nieces and nephews.  He always had a story to share.  At times these stories were questionable, but entertaining.
Alfred passed away on April 6, 2023 at Avoca Nursing Home after a brief illness.  He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his sisters Shirley (Kenny) Olson of Harlan, and Betty (Erwin) Erickson of Ames, nieces and nephews Tracy (Abbie) Olson of Norwalk, Julie Olson of Harlan, Marissa Erickson of Ogden, Iowa; and Matt Erickson of Forsythe, Illinios; also survived by 3 great nieces Natalie, Molly, and Zoey Olson, as well as friends and other family.
A private family service was officiated by Pastor Phil Nielsen on Saturday, April 29, 2023 at Harlan Cemetery in Harlan, Iowa.
Pauley Jones Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
