Young bull moose spotted in Shelby County not that unusual, officials say

COUNTY – Residents in Shelby County have reported seeing a wandering moose in the northern portion of the region.
Multiple reports have been received that a young male bull moose was spotted along Highway 59 and U. Ave., also called the Buck Grove Rd., near Goshorn Seed and Ag Supply, on Monday, Nov. 9 between 9-10 a.m.  There have been other reports north of Defiance throughout the week.
Passers-by had stopped along Highway 59 and reported seeing the moose walking through a field near the supply firm on Monday.
State officials have said it’s not unusual to see a moose in the area.  Northwest Iowa media outlets have reported bull moose sightings near Milford and Sibley in October.
