Staff survey outlines HCS facilities needs

Public participation, committee development coming soon

HARLAN – An updated and renovated auditorium space at the high school is one of the key needs as spelled out by administration, teachers and support staff in a findings report provided to the Harlan Community Schools Board of Education last month by CMBA Architects.
Patrick Davis with Denovo Construction Solutions, the firm tapped to provide master planning for future facilities improvements, outlined the results of the thought exchange survey among staff at a meeting in December.
The company is providing an abbreviated assessment of existing district facilities, facilitating an online staff survey and in-person staff and student visioning session, a 10-year master plan, community engagement and a celebration open house.
“It was a good survey; we got a lot of information back,” Davis said.
