Who will Shelby Countians, Iowans see as the next president?

    COUNTY – The eyes of the nation will be upon the State of Iowa February 1 for the Republican and Democratic Caucuses, and Shelby County will be included in the national media spotlight.
    Republican caucus participants will elect delegates, alternate delegates and junior delegates to the Shelby County Republican Convention.  In addition, they will elect two people to serve on the Shelby County Republican Party Central Committee.
    Democratic participants at the Feb. 1 caucuses will indicate their choice of candidates by one of a variety of methods including show of hands, sign-in sheet or grouping by their choice of candidate.
    The caucuses begin in Iowa at 7 p.m. that Monday evening.  The presidential preference polling is conducted early to accommodate the national media.
