A holiday tradition returns to Harlan

“Home for the Holidays” will be presented December 7

HARLAN — A “much beloved tradition” will be revived Saturday, December 7 when the Western Iowa Arts Association (WIAA) and Harlan Community Theatre present “Home for the Holidays”.
Tony Buman, member of the production team, said the Christmas Variety Show will feature a community choir, children’s choir, various duet and solo performances, and skits.
“We have some very impressive talent involved,” Buman said.
“Home for the Holidays” was a Christmas tradition in Harlan from 1991-2012, when WIAA put on annual performances. “It had been done for years, then went a way for awhile. We are glad to bring it back,” Buman said.
The show is scheduled for 7 p.m. Saturday at Faith Family Church.”We are grateful for the support Faith Family Church has given the show with the use of their space, lighting and sound equipment, and tech crew,” Buman said.
Buman was involved in the show when he moved back to Harlan in the early 2000’s, and said WIAA and the Harlan Community Theatre is proud to present it to the community again this year.
“It brings back fond memories for everyone,” he said. “Hopefully, it will become an annual event.”
Tickets are available at Milk & Honey in Harlan, at the door the evening of the performance, or online at cur8.com/23409/project/126579
