Harlan Newspapers sports editor honored by IHSAA

    CEDAR FALLS - Veteran Harlan Newspapers Sports Editor Mike Oeffner has been awarded the Iowa High School Athletic Association’s media award as selected by the IHSAA Board of Control.  He, along with four others, was given the honor at the Class 3A state football championship here on Thursday, Nov. 19 at the UNI Dome.
    A graduate of Morningside College and a Paullina native, Oeffner has been with the Harlan Newspapers for 16 years covering 13 state championship appearances for the Harlan Community Cyclones as well as four more championships covering the efforts of IKM-Manning, AHSTW and Exira-Elk Horn-Kimballton school districts.
