Elk Horn Fire Department lights up fire hall sign

    ELK HORN -- Over the course of the last few years, the Elk Horn Fire and Rescue building has seen many changes, but the newest addition is a metal and stained glass sign hanging outside the Fire Station.
    “The most important aspect of Fire and Rescue is having proper equipment and training to make sure we are ready when emergencies occur.” said Lori Hoflen, a 15 year volunteer with Elk Horn Fire and Rescue. “Since that’s where our budget goes, several members stepped forward to create a sign.”
    Elk Horn Fire and Rescue has been collecting donations and grants to add to the fire station, but they yearned for a sign that best displayed their organization, mulling over the idea for almost two years.
