Weddings - Katie and Jason Curry

WESTPHALIA -- Katie Goeser and Jason Curry both of DeSoto, IA were married at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Westphalia on September 26, 2020. The 3 p.m. double ring ceremony was performed by Father Wayne Gubbels, cousin of bride, Harlan.
Parents of the couple are Bruce and Julie Goeser, Harlan; and Diane Curry, Des Moines, and the late David Curry.
Grandfather of the bride is Vince Heese, Earling.
The bride’s mother had made cloth hearts to be worn on the bride’s dress in memory of the bride’s grandmothers and grandfather. On the altar were a photo and candle in memory of the groom’s father, David Curry, and the groom’s best friend, Robert Clark.
The bride was escorted to the altar by her father. Matron of honor was Kelli Florell, sister of bride, Gretna, NE. Man of honor was Tyler Wood, cousin of bride, Norwalk. Attending as bridesmaids were Jessica Keane, Council Bluffs; Amber Peterson, Grimes; Amber Henrich, Ankeny; and Leslie Goetz, Defiance. Serving as bridal security were Jason Schneider, Tennant; and Tim Thompson, Neola.
Flower girls were the bride’s nieces, Bryn Florell and Oaklyn Florell both of Gretna. The bride’s personal attendants were Randi Bissen, Earling; Nicci Rihner, Portsmouth; Katie Zabel Minden; Jessica McCool, Council Bluffs; and Chryssie Gallentine, Little Rock, AR.
Best man was Jamie Coady, Colfax. Best woman was Ashley Coady, Colfax. Serving as groomsmen were Dalton Coady, Colfax; Kris Erdman, Urbandale; Pat Strieg, Monroe, IA; and Travis Coady, Newton. Ringbearers were Grant Goeser and Wyatt Goeser, both nephews of bride, Granger.
Ushering the guests were Jason Florell, brother-in-law of bride, Gretna; Greg Goeser, brother of bride, Granger; Gavyn Florell, nephew of bride, Gretna; and Matt Rathert, Ankeny. Candlelighters were mothers of the bride and groom. Music was provided by soloist and organist Tyler Woods. Guest book attendants were Deb Henrich and Ashley Henrich both of Earling. Cake server was April Ranney, Council Bluffs. The cakes were made by the groom’s mother.
Following the ceremony, a reception and dance were held at the St. Boniface Parish Hall with the bride’s aunts, Carmie Gubbels, Panama; Jane Query, Earling; and Judy Heese, Earling; serving as hostesses.
The rehearsal dinner, hosted by the groom’s mother, was held at the St. Boniface Parish Pavillion.
The bride is a 2003 graduate of Harlan Community High School and a 2007 graduate of Iowa State University where she earned a bachelor’s degree in communications. Katie is employed as a community manager with Timberland Partners.
The groom is a 2006 graduate of Lincoln High School and a 2008 graduate of DMACC’s Caterpiller technology program. Jason is employed as a diesel mechanic at Ziegler Cat.
The newlyweds went on a honeymoon trip to Cabo San Lucas in January. The Currys will be moving into their newly built home in Bondurant in June.
