Weddings - Brandon and Amanda Kew
HARLAN -- Amanda Petersen and Brandon Kew both of Omaha exchanged marriage vows on October 17, 2020 in an outdoor ceremony at the Harlan Golf and Country Club. Pastor Kirk Petersen, father of the bride, performed the 4 p.m. double ring ceremony.
Parents of the bride are Kirk and Christine Petersen, Harlan. Parents of the groom are Connie and Kim Weyant, Boone; and Craig Kew, Sheffield.
Grandparents of the bride are Wilbur and Ruth Busing, Missouri Valley; and Karl and Jackie Petersen, Logan. Grandmother of the groom is Nola Johnson, Charles City.
The bride was escorted down the aisle by her father, Kirk Petersen. Amanda’s bridal bouquet was wrapped in sections of her mother’s bridal veil. Maid of honor was Megan Kaufman, Grimes. Attending as bridesmaids were Ellie Van Roy, Omaha; Alyssa Jacobs, Denver, CO; Macey Parriott, Omaha; Amanda Vogt, Omaha; Ashley Davis, sister of groom, Elkhart; and Kate Petersen, sister-in-law of bride, Harlan.
Flower girls were Olive Davis and Oaklynn Davis, nieces of groom, Elkhart; and the bride and groom’s dogs, Georgia Kew and Pippa Kew, Omaha.
Best man was Chris Kew, Chicago, IL. Serving as groomsmen were Dakota Fish, Des Moines; Nathan Lee, Des Moines; Will Metscher, Portland, OR; Tanner Davis, brother-in-law of groom, Elkhart; and Mitchel Petersen, brother of bride, Harlan. Ringbearer was Griffin Johnson, cousin of groom, Hampton. Guests were ushered by John Hyde, Lafayette, LA; and Micheal Milan, Gainsville, FL.
An outdoor reception and dance were held in a tent at the Harlan Golf and Country Club with Bruce and Rita Pfannkuch, Harlan; and Jordyn Pappel, cousin of bride, Bettendorf; serving as host and hostesses.
The rehearsal dinner was held at the Rosman-Glendale Shelby County Golf Course.
The bride is a 2010 graduate of Harlan Community High School and a 2014 graduate of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where she was awarded a degree in marketing and fashion merchandising. Amanda is employed in health and wellness sales for Isagenix.
The groom is a 2008 graduate of Boone High School and a 2012 graduate of the University of Northern Iowa where he earned a degree in economics, finance and entrepreneurship. Brandon is employed as a certified financial planner with Southwestern Investment Group/Raymond James. The newlyweds are at home in Omaha.
