Wolves win opener 35-0 over Chargers
GUTHRIE CENTER (Aug. 24) -- IKM-Manning scored four touchdowns in the opening 16 minutes and cruised past ACGC 35-0 in last Friday’s season-opening football game.
The Wolves’ five touchdown drives averaged just four plays and covered 53 yards or less, including a one-play, two-yard series in the second quarter.
Stephen Grimm opened the scoring by catching a 48-yard pass from Kyler Rasmussen and later added a 13-yard TD run. Nathan Blankman scored from two yards out early in the second quarter and freshman Amos Rasmussen broke loose for a 40-yard touchdown run. Blankman capped the scoring with a 39-yard run in the third. Placekicker Grant Stracke was a perfect 5-for-5 on his PAT kicks.
Chris Birks and Brody Swearingen both recovered a fumble for the IKM-Manning defense, which opened the year with a shutout. Grimm was the top tackler with nine solo stops and six assists, followed by Dane Blom with six solos and 10 assists.
