Wolves win at Lo-Ma, off to 3-1 start

LOGAN (Dec. 5) -- Turning a nine-point first-half deficit into a 10-point second-half lead, the IKM-Manning boys showed composure down the stretch Tuesday night to hold off Logan-Magnolia on the road, 57-51.
IKM-M seniors Jared Johnson and Austin Ahrenholtz combined to hit 8-of-10 free throws in the final 1:54 after Lo-Ma had used a quick 8-0 run to pull within 49-48 on Kolby Morrison’s back-to-back 3-pointers.
Two straight defensive stops and some steady ball handling allowed the Wolves to turn the last minute-plus into a free throw event and their senior leaders were up to the task. Johnson scored 18 of his game-high 23 points in the second half - his third straight game of 20 or more - and Ahrenholtz finished the night with seven points, seven rebounds, four assists and two steals.
Junior Alex Lingle also continued his early-season scoring tear, making 10-of-11 shots and posting a double-double with 20 points (16 in the first half) and 11 boards.
IKM-Manning improved to 3-1 overall and 2-1 in the Western Iowa Conference while handing the Panthers (3-1, 2-1 WIC) their first loss.
Morrison, who knocked down 5-of-8 treys, paced the Panthers with 19 points. Nic Hiller added 15 and Jesup Lake had 12 points and six rebounds.
