MANNING (Sept. 8) -- The IKM-Manning football team improved to 2-1 on Friday night with a 21-13 win over OA-BCIG to open district play.
The Wolves trailed 13-7 midway through the second quarter, but the deficit lasted just 13 seconds as Carter Irlmeier returned a Falcon kickoff 89 yards for a touchdown. Grant Stracke's PAT put IKM-M up 14-13 and Stephen Grimm scored the only touchdown of the second half with 1:06 left in the third quarter.
Grimm had two TDs on the night and finished with 143 rushing yards on 26 carries. Irlmeier rushed for 70 yards on 16 carries and Nathan Blankman carried the ball six times for 60 yards. Jared Johnson completed 10-of-14 passes for 99 yards with one interception.
