Wolves rush by Gaels in District 2 opener

FORT DODGE (Sept. 21) -- Kyler and Amos Rasmussen both ran for a pair of touchdowns and IKM-Manning’s defense took a shutout into the final two minutes last Friday as the Wolves opened district play with a 41-8 win at Fort Dodge St. Edmond.
IKM-Manning (3-2 overall) snapped a two-game losing skid in a big way, rolling to a 35-0 halftime lead and playing the entire second half with a running clock.
The Wolves forced two Gael turnovers on the night - an Ethan Carter fumble recovery at the 15-yard line and an Alex Lingle 30-yard interception return to the 10 - that set up short scoring drives. The other four TD drives all covered 50-plus yards, including a 17-play, 70-yard march in the first quarter.
St. Edmond (2-3) was held to 140 total yards and didn’t find the endzone until Sean Flattery’s 30-yard run with 1:35 left in the game.
Eight IKM-M players carried the ball at least once as the team rushed for 257 yards on 41 attempts, led by Stephen Grimm’s 82 yards and one TD on 13 totes.
