Wolves avenge Wheelers 55-38
MANNING -- Leading 24-21 at halftime, the IKM-Manning boys outscored Audubon 17-8 in the third quarter and continued to pull away in the fourth to beat the Wheelers 55-38 here Tuesday night and salvage a split of the season series.
Both teams are now 8-4 overall, but the Wolves are one game ahead of Audubon in the Western Iowa Conference standings (7-2 to 6-3) going into Friday night’s game at AHSTW.
Senior Alex Lingle and junior Colten Brandt carried the load offensively for IKM-Manning, scoring 20 points each and combining to grab 20 rebounds. Kyler Rasmussen added six points, Colby Keller had five and Nathan Blankman scored four.
The Wolves outrebounded the Wheelers 31-23 and made nine steals on defense while holding Audubon to a 26 percent shooting night.
Lane Lawson paced the Wheelers with 13 points, followed by Skyler Schultes, Kaiden Smith and Marcus Olsen with seven each.
