Wolverines hand HCHS girls 4-2 loss in home opener

 HARLAN -- Scoring twice on first-half breakaway goals into the wind, the Harlan Community girls soccer team was unable to take advantage of a second-half breeze at their backs in Friday night’s 4-2 home loss to Sioux City West.
 HCHS led 2-1 with less than 10 minutes left in the first half before the visiting Wolverines scored the final three goals, including two before halftime and another just 54 seconds following the break.
 The Cyclones, who also allowed a goal within the first two minutes of the game, scored on first-half breakaway goals by Haley Arkfeld and Kylee Hinz but could not take advantage of several close-range opportunities in the second half.
 Both teams are now 1-1 overall.
