Vikings tie for fourth in final WIC standings

 AVOCA -- The AHSTW baseball team stole 14 bases and got an excellent outing on the mound from Blake Osbahr Friday night (June 23) to beat Logan-Magnolia 6-1. The Vikings improved to 13-7 overall and finished 11-7 in Western Iowa Conference play, tying Audubon for fourth place in the regular season standings.
 AHSTW scored single runs in each of the first six innings against the Panthers to gradually pull away. Gabe Madsen and Anthony Cordes both went 2-for-3 at the plate while Blaine Lees and Osbahr added singles. Lees led the team with two runs scored and Madsen drove in three. Stolen base leaders included Lees and Joey Cunningham with three each and Preslyn Grobe and Osbahr both with two.
 Osbahr (3-1) took care of the rest, holding Lo-Ma hitless until the sixth and finishing with 12 strikeouts in six and one-third innings.
