Vikings’ second-half rally earns district title
AVOCA (Oct. 19) -- A valiant second-half comeback lifted AHSTW past St. Albert 19-14 Friday night as the Viking football team capped an unbeaten regular season and claimed the Class A, District 9 championship over the Falcons.
Down 14-0 at the half, AHSTW rallied behind three second-half touchdowns, including Blake Osbahr’s 13-yard TD pass to Drake Partridge with 2:43 remaining. St. Albert moved the ball near midfield on its final drive before being stopped on downs. The 2nd-ranked Vikings (9-0) will host Alta-Aurelia (7-2) in a Class A playoff game Friday night (Oct. 26). St. Albert finished the year 5-4 overall and 4-1 in District 9.
