Three local cagers selected for KMAland All-Star Classic

 TABOR -- Three senior basketball players from the Harlan Newspapers’ coverage area have been selected to play in this year’s KMAland All-Star Basketball Classic, set for Sunday, March 17, at Fremont-Mills High School.
 IKM-Manning’s Gabby Cadwell will play for CAM coach Joe Wollum’s team while Exira-Elk Horn-Kimballton’s Cole Burmeister and Harlan Community’s Brett Sears will both play for Glenwood coach Curt Schulte’s team.
 The All-Star Classic will begin with the girls game at 2:00 p.m., followed by the boys game at 3:40. During the course of the afternoon, a 3-Point Contest will also be held and numerous KMAland awards will be presented.
 Cadwell averaged 13.3 points per game for the IKM-M girls (17-5) this past season. She ranked second on the team in points, rebounds (150), assists (71) and steals (79) while leading the Wolves with 40 blocked shots.
 Burmeister, a second-team All-State selection in Class 1A this week, ranked second on the Spartans (22-3) with 16.4 ppg and led the squad with 90 made free throws, 78 steals and 184 assists while adding 169 rebounds.
 Sears led the Cyclones (11-9) with 14.4 points per game, 166 rebounds, 21 steals and 11 blocked shots, shooting 45 percent from three-point range.
