Three area boys teams still alive

 AREA -- Exira-Elk Horn-Kimballton, AHSTW and IKM-Manning all prevailed in boys basketball district action Thursday and will continue on the postseason trail Tuesday.
 The Spartans won 70-49 over Charter Oak-Ute in a Class 1-A district quarterfinal and will host Coon Rapids-Bayard on Tuesday night. The winner plays at Manning Thursday (7 p.m.) against either Ar-We-Va or Boyer Valley.
 In Class 2-A district semis, AHSTW routed Shenandoah 88-60 and IKM-M won a 76-74 thriller vs. South Central Calhoun. On Tuesday night, the Vikings will face Treynor (at Harlan) and the Wolves will take on Kuemper Catholic at Carroll Public.
