Special Olympians perform well at state level

 IOWA CITY -- A total of 14 student-athletes from the Harlan Community Schools competed in the Special Olympics Mid-Winter Games on March 10-11 in Iowa City. Results, including nine gold medalists, are as follows.
 High School: Gracie Assmann (1st place, Basketball Skills); Dylan Janssen (1st place, Basketball Skills); Morgan Haggard (1st place, Cheerleading); Chloe Hays (1st place, Cheerleading).
 Middle School: McKenna Bates (1st place, Cheerleading); Camryn Casebeer (1st place, Cheerleading); Billy Joe Harvey (1st place, Cheerleading); Angelina Wells (1st place, Cheerleading); Drake Riley (1st place, Basketball Skills); Matt Kenkel (2nd place, Basketball Skills); Jason Anderson (2nd place, 3-on-3 Basketball); Mark Kenkel (2nd place, 3-on-3 Basketball); Mike Kenkel (2nd place, 3-on-3 Basketball).
 Elementary School: Jayvin Keys (5th place, Basketball Skills).
