Spartans cruise by Wildcats, win fourth in a row
ELK HORN (Jan. 12) -- The Exira-Elk Horn-Kimballton boys extended their winning streak to four games Friday night and avenged a three-point loss from December by dominating Glidden-Ralston 80-45 in a Rolling Valley Conference game.
The Spartans shot 60 percent from the field (30-of-50) and put four players in double figures as Dakota Rold scored 17 points, followed by Cole Madsen with 14, Cole Burmeister 11 and Trey Nelson 10.
Exira-EHK, now 7-5 overall and 6-5 in the RVC, built a 22-8 lead after the first quarter and continued to pull away by outscoring the Wildcats (6-7, 4-6 RVC) 20-13 in the second quarter and 25-11 in the third.
Rold and Madsen combined to shoot 13-of-16 from the field for the Spartans in leading the offensive charge.
