Spartans’ Anthofer advances in Class 1-A girls golf

 MOUNT AYR -- Exira-Elk Horn-Kimballton freshman Jacey Anthofer placed fourth in the medalist standings at Monday’s (May 15) Class 1-A first round regional girls golf tournament, clinching a spot in the regional final.
 Anthofer carded a 98 over 18 holes at the Mount Ayr Country Club, finishing behind CAM’s Sammie Jahde (76) and Mount Ayr’s Abbey Schafer (86) and Tessa Shields (93). The top five individuals qualified for the Monday, May 22 Region 2 final tournament at Anita’s Crestwood Hills.
 The top two teams, Mount Ayr (391) and CAM (432), also advanced to the regional final. Exira-EHK placed third out of seven teams with a 441.
