Spartan girls advance past Glidden-Ralston

ELK HORN (Feb. 13) -- The Exira-Elk Horn-Kimballton girls basketball team defeated Glidden-Ralston 61-51 in a Class 1A, Region 8 quarterfinal game Wednesday night in Elk Horn. The Spartans improved to 17-5 overall and will now play at 14th-ranked Westwood (18-4) in a 7:00 p.m. regional semifinal Friday night (Feb. 15).
Scoring leaders for Exira-EHK included: Tatum Grubbs 16 points, Kamryn Waymire 13, Macy Emgarten 12 and Leslie Caniglia 10. Caniglia added nine rebounds while Grubbs and Ellie Schultes both had four assists.
