Softball: Wolves snap Lo-Ma’s 13-game streak, 8-7

 LOGAN -- It wasn’t easy, but the IKM-Manning softball team snapped Logan-Magnolia’s 13-game winning streak Tuesday night with an 8-7 road victory over the 9th-ranked (2-A) Panthers.
 Trailing 3-2 after three, the Wolves scored two runs each in the fourth, sixth and seventh innings before holding off Lo-Ma’s four-run rally in its final at-bat when Mya Doyel caught a fly ball in left for the final out.
 Taylor Croghan’s two-run home run gave IKM-M the lead for good in the fourth and Doyel added a two-run triple in the sixth. Payton Sporrer had a two-run double in the game and Croghan finished with three hits and three RBI.
 Junior pitcher Peyton Gross, who was 2-for-4 with a double and two runs scored to help her own cause, allowed seven hits and seven runs (all unearned) in a complete game effort, walking two and striking out nine.
 The Wolves improved to 9-3 overall and 7-1 in Western Iowa Conference play while Lo-Ma dropped to 13-2 and 6-1.
IKM-M 1, Mo. Valley 0
 IRWIN -- Peyton Gross outdueled Paige Livermore on Monday night, pitching a two-hit shutout with 11 Ks as the Wolves edged Missouri Valley 1-0.
 IKM-Manning scored the game’s only run in the second inning when Grace Youngren drove in Katelyn Crawford. Paige Gaskill went 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles to lead the Wolves at the plate.
