Schaben signs with Beavers

 HARLAN -- Harlan Community senior Luke Schaben signed a letter of intent on February 6 to join the baseball team at Buena Vista University in Storm Lake.
 Schaben had a breakout season for the Cyclones last summer, playing second base and outfield while batting in the middle of the order and helping the team to a state runner-up finish in Class 3A. Schaben batted .394 (second on the team) with a .466 on-base percentage, hitting nine doubles and finishing with 33 runs-batted-in. He finished with 43 total hits, 29 runs scored and eight stolen bases. For his efforts, Schaben was named second team All-Hawkeye Ten Conference as well as second team All-District.
