Sauvain, Herrera capitalize on Viking Senior Night starts

AVOCA (Feb. 1) -- Making his first career start on Senior Night, AHSTW’s Matt Sauvain hit 3-of-4 three-pointers and scored a team-high 13 points last Friday as the Vikings defeated Riverside 61-46.
Sauvain and fellow senior Matthew Herrera (7 points) were both inserted into the starting lineup and totaled 20 points on 7-of-9 shooting after combining for just four points all season in limited playing time. Senior Blake Osbahr, a regular starter, finished with seven points, seven rebounds, three assists and two steals.
AHSTW built a 37-19 lead at halftime and was actually outscored the rest of the way as Coach G.G. Harris freely substituted and used all 13 varsity players. Joey Cunningham matched Sauvain by making three of the team’s 11 treys and scored nine points.
