Rasmussen hits 1,000-point mark as IKM-M girls fall to Panorama

MANNING (Dec. 2) -- In a battle of Class 2A Top 10 teams, the Panorama girls outlasted IKM-Manning 50-45 in a competitive non-conference matchup here last Saturday.
The Wolves’ highlight of the game was senior guard Kia Rasmussen surpassing 1,000 career points on a three-point basket with less than three minutes to go. Rasmussen, who started the day 14 points shy of 1,000, led the 10th-ranked Wolves (2-1) with 18 points, 10 rebounds and four assists, shooting 4-of-7 from 3-point range.
“It’s a great milestone for her in her high school career,” said IKM-M head coach and Kia’s father, Gene Rasmussen. “It’s great tribute to all the time she has spent in the gym.”
