Rams, Knights outshoot HCHS

 HARLAN -- Glenwood and Kuemper Catholic posted the top five rounds of the day and both outscored Harlan Community in a boys golf triangular Tuesday (April 18) at the Harlan Golf and Country Club.
 Paced by three scores of 39, Glenwood won the meet with a team score of 159, followed by Kuemper’s 162 and the Cyclones’ 167. Jared Tigges of Kuemper won medalist honors with a 1-over-par 37 while Glenwood’s Colton Book was runner-up medalist (on a tiebreaker) with a 39.
 Golfing his first varsity round of the season, junior Shane Chamberlain led HCHS with a 41 that included three pars and a birdie 2 on the par-3 fifth hole. Troy Nowatzke, Jay Swanson and Matthew Bjoin all shot 42, Kevin Campbell had a 43 and Ryan DeMott finished with a 47.
 The Cyclones’ conference meet record is now 2-2.
