Phipps signs with Morningside

 HARLAN -- Harlan Community senior Jessica Phipps has signed a letter of intent to join the Morningside College women’s bowling team in the fall of 2017. Jessica is the daughter of Donald and Nancy Phipps, Harlan.
 Phipps becomes the fourth Cyclone bowler in the last two years to sign with Morningside, joining Bailey Portwood, Elizabeth Stroud and Joshua Grote from the class of 2016. As a senior, Phipps led the Cyclone girls with 3,929 total pins and a 151.1 game average as the team finished with a 5-6 dual record, placed fourth at the Hawkeye Ten Conference Tournament and placed third at their Class 1-A State Qualifying Tournament. A first-team All-Hawkeye Ten selection, Phipps was a 12th-place medalist at the conference meet. She also posted the team’s highest individual game score (209) and highest two-game set (367) of the season.
