Peters leads HCHS boys to fifth place at H-10 golf meet

 CARROLL (May 7) -- The Harlan Community boys golfers moved up three spots in the team standings from last year’s Hawkeye Ten Conference Tournament, placing fifth out of 11 schools Monday at the Carroll Municipal Golf Course.
 HCHS shot a 323 overall, led by Mason Peters’ 7-over-par round of 78. Peters used 39 strokes on both the front and back nines and tied for 13th, narrowly missing out on a medal. The Cyclones also counted scores of 80 by Jay Swanson, 82 by Kevin Campbell and 83 by Ryan DeMott. Blake Goshorn shot an 85 and Jared Moser carded a 91.
 Atlantic defended its team championship by four shots over Kuemper Catholic, 295-299, followed by third-place Glenwood (303) and Lewis Central (319).
 Glenwood’s Ryan Leath and Atlantic’s Cyle Renaud both shot 69 to finish atop the individual leader board.
