Harlan driver credits attention to detail for success

COLUMBUS, NEB. -- Another win, another milestone.
Harlan driver Mike Nichols won his division-best 400th IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature on June 23 at U.S. 30 Speedway in Columbus, Neb. The victory was his 13th in a row and 26th in 29 starts this season.
Better yet, it came with a $400 bonus and congratulatory banner courtesy of promoter Mari Melcher, plus a gift basket that included a bottle of champagne, a case of beer for Nichols, flowers for his wife Anita and treats for their dogs.
“That’s attention to detail,” Nichols said. “Mari had everybody covered.”
