Markham named Central College’s Male Athlete of Year

 PELLA -- Former Atlantic standout Sam Markham was chosen as the Central College Male Athlete of the Year this past spring as part of the school’s annual Dutchies Awards. Sam is the son of Mark and Pat Markham and the grandson of Betty Markham, Harlan. Mark Markham was a former standout athlete at Harlan Community High School.
 Sam Markham earned NCAA Division III All-America honors for the Central football team last fall, catching 105 passes for 1,215 yards and 12 touchdowns. He has set numerous school records during his career, including 15 catches in one game and 2,638 career receiving yards.
