Manz signs with Morningside men’s basketball

HARLAN -- Harlan Community senior Hunter Manz signed a national letter of intent on March 28 to join the men’s basketball program at Morningside College in Sioux City.
Manz was projected to be the Cyclones’ starting point guard as a senior but was unable to play during the 2018-19 season while recovering from surgery for a torn ACL. He also played football and soccer during his HCHS career. As a junior, Manz scored 68 points (3.0 ppg.) in a reserve role for the Cyclones, leading the team with a 59.5 field goal percentage and making 8-of-17 three-pointers. He ranked fourth on the team with 43 assists and also grabbed 29 rebounds and 11 steals.
Manz will join a Mustang program which finished 29-4 overall this past season, including an 18-2 mark in the Great Plains Athletic Conference (regular season champions) and a second straight trip to the Elite Eight of the NAIA Division II National Tournament.
