Lady Vikes rout Woodbine

 AVOCA (Nov. 19) -- Claire Harris and Claire Denning combined for 42 points Monday night as the AHSTW girls basketball team took control from the outset and cruised past Woodbine 74-33 in its season opener.
 The Lady Vikes secured 25 steals in the contest and led 17-6 after one quarter, 39-16 at the half and 64-25 after three.
 Harris led the way with 22 points, Denning scored 20 and Kinsey Scheffler also hit double digits with 12. Also scoring for AHSTW were Katie Anzalone with nine points, Kailey Jones four, Kate Wise three and Tristin Heiny and Natalie Hagadon two each.
 Jones led AHSTW with 11 rebounds, Scheffler grabbed nine caroms and Harris had five. Denning and Harris both had four assists to go along with their high point totals. Steal leaders included Anzalone with seven, Harris six, Denning four and Jones, Scheffler and Julia Kock with two each.
