Klaassen to play hoops at Midland

 HARLAN -- Logan Klaassen, a 2018 Harlan Community High School graduate, signed a letter of intent this spring to play collegiate basketball at Midland University in Fremont, Nebraska.
 As a senior, Klaassen helped the 2017-18 Cyclones finish 15-8 overall and reach the Class 3A substate finals. The 6-foot-2 shooting guard was second on the team with a scoring average of 14.3 points per game while also averaging 3.2 rebounds and 2.0 assists. He shot 42.5 percent from the field overall and had the same marksmanship from three-point range, hitting 54-of-127 attempts, while also shooting 74.4 percent from the free throw line (67-of-90). Klaassen saved some of his best games for the postseason, averaging 22.0 ppg. and making 14-of-22 treys in the tournament series vs. Perry, Creston and Glenwood.
 Klaassen received honorable mention All-Hawkeye Ten plaudits and was also named honorable mention All-Area (Council Bluffs Daily Nonpareil) and All-Western Iowa (Omaha World-Herald).
