IKM-Manning softball splits a pair of WIC games

 IRWIN (June 4) -- IKM-Manning split a pair of Western Iowa Conference softball games earlier this week, winning 5-0 at Audubon Monday and losing to Underwood 7-2 here Tuesday night.
IKM-M 5, Audubon 0
 Freshman Bianca Cadwell pitched a two-hit shutout for the Wolves with five strikeouts and two walks and also chipped in with a hit and RBI at the plate during Monday’s 5-0 win at Audubon.
 IKM-Manning took a 1-0 lead in the first inning and pulled away with a three-spot in the fifth. Joanna Freese and Emily Kerkhoff led the way offensively, both going 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles. Lexi Branning hit a solo home run and scored twice.
Underwood 7, IKM-M 2
 The Wolves fell behind 6-0 after three and a half innings Tuesday night and managed to score just two unearned runs off Eagle pitcher Ella Pierce, who took a no-hitter into the seventh before Sammy Halbur and Zoey Melton both singled.
 IKM-Manning hit several balls right on the money in the late innings that were right at Underwood fielders.
 Bianca Cadwell took the loss, allowing 15 hits but just five earned runs in seven innings.
