IKM-Manning improves WIC softball record to 9-1

 AVOCA -- IKM-Manning scored seven runs in its final two at-bats to pull away from AHSTW for a 13-5 softball win Friday night, improving to 9-1 in the Western Iowa Conference (11-3 overall).
 The Lady Vikes matched the Wolves early on, answering IKM-M’s three-run top of the first with three in the bottom half and tying the score a second time with two runs in the third. The margin was just 4-3 when the Wolves scored four in the sixth and three in the seventh to break the game open.
 Peyton Gross earned the pitching win for IKM-M and helped her own cause with a 3-for-3 night at the plate, scoring twice and driving in one. Paige Gaskill had a good night in the leadoff spot, hitting a double and triple and scoring three times.
 AHSTW (5-6 overall, 4-6 in the WIC) got two hits each from Katie Anzalone, Sydney Zimmerman, Haley Constable, Madison Rasmussen and Sami Kloewer, including one double for Constable (3 RBI), Rasmussen and Kloewer.
IKM-M 11, Audubon 0
 AUDUBON -- Peyton Gross pitched a one-hit shutout with nine Ks and Payton Sporrer smacked her first home run to highlight IKM-Manning’s 11-0 road win over Audubon on Thursday.
 Gross had another three-hit night at the plate as well, including one double, while Paige Gaskill and Sporrer both went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBI.
