IKM-Manning girls place 10th at 1A state golf meet

 MARSHALLTOWN (May 29) -- The IKM-Manning girls golf team finished 10th out of 10 teams at the Class 1A State Tournament last week, scoring 18-hole rounds of 432 and 435 for a total of 867.
 Held at the American Legion Golf Course in Marshalltown, the state meet featured a suspension of play during the first round on Tuesday (May 28) due to lightning and rain and continued on Wednesday with the completion of round one and the full second round.
 Bishop Garrigan won the 1A state title with a score of 727 (376-351), followed by Akron-Westfield (742) and East Buchanan (750). Boyer Valley finished ninth with an 818. Alta-Aurelia’s Annika Patton was the individual state champion, shooting an eight-over-par total of 148 with rounds of 78 and 70. Sammi Jahde of CAM took second place with a 154.
 Seniors Hanna Mullen and Bailey Schechinger paced the IKM-Manning scorecard with totals of 211 (107-104) and 213 (110-103), respectively, placing 55th and 57th in the 79-player field. Junior Emily Powers shot a 216 (104-112) for the Wolves, sophomore Bre Muhlbauer had a 227 (111-116), sophomore Kamaya Jacobsen had a 239 (121-118) and senior Neeka Jacobsen withdrew.
