IKM-Manning boys knock off Tri-Center

 MANNING (Jan. 30) -- Stopping a two-game slide with one of its top wins of the season, the IKM-Manning boys basketball team used a strong first quarter to outlast Tri-Center 51-41 in Western Iowa Conference action Tuesday.
 The Wolves, now 10-8 overall and 9-7 in the WIC, established a 15-6 lead after one period and basically held serve the rest of the way to force a season split with the Trojans (13-6, 10-6 WIC).
 IKM-M won the game with defense, stealing the ball 14 times (compared to T-C’s six steals) and attempting 21 more shots than the Trojans with the help of nine offensive rebounds as well.
 Senior guard Jared Johnson led the Wolves with 17 points and three assists while Ethan Carter (4 steals) and Kyler Rasmussen (5 rebounds, 3 steals) chipped in nine points apiece.
 Tri-Center got a big game from Ben Sorenson, who led the way with 21 points, 10 rebounds, four steals and two blocked shots.
